The Student Support Services Department serves the parents, students and staff of Huntsville City Schools.  The department includes student support in the areas of enrollment, registration, attendance, discipline, student transfers, truancy and social services. Data on enrollment, attendance, and discipline incidents are tracked and reported to state and federal agencies as well as to the public.  In addition, the department assists parents and school personnel in interpreting policies and procedures that pertain to the areas included.

To enhance desegregation, the Huntsville City school district permits a student to transfer from a school where his/her race is in a majority to a school where his/her race is in a minority if space is available. This is called a Majority to Minority transfer.  Applications for Majority to Minority transfers for the 2014-2015 school year are located in the Office of Student Support Services and are being accepted electronically May 1, 2014 through May 31, 2014 and will be processed this summer.
